Hello guys, I decided to enter the group build with one of Dragon’s oldies: the Stug III C/D. I’m going to build it almost OOB because it’s a little late to do some major surgery on it with the dateline so close at hand. So let me show you what I’ve done till now….
As always, the first step is to build the lower hull so here it is complete with suspension arms, shocks and final drive housings.
Here is a rear view with the mufflers and everything else in place.
The road wheels, idles and sprockets assembled and ready to be installed.
Here the engine deck, engine vents and the gun mount is in place. Also you can see where the “almost OOB” comes into play; I made a spare track rack out of some plastic strips and glued it to the sides of the hull.
The front upper plate was next.
Here’s a close up.
The other side got one too.
Next the fenders were done, complete with tools and such.
After that the superstructure and the smoke grenades housing was glued.
Then details as tow hooks and visors were installed.
That’s all for now. The next step is the most tedious one; building the tracks. So with that happy though I will see you on the next update.
