I'm not sure if it's according to rules, or accepted customs, but I though why start a new thread for every build I have a question about... I'd love to read comments and suggestions on kits I build, because it proved the most valuable source for learning -hence the online show-off. I'd like to keep this post for upcoming builds, if it's not against the rules.
So the first project: an OOB Tamiya Wirlbelwind, which was built solely for practicing weathering (and it's a cool looking vehicle, anyway).
Nothing was corrected, the only attempt was to fabricate a cover for the radioman's MG from EpoxySculpt. It's gloss black now, but it's only a base for further painting. (I think it was rubberized textile originally, and it does look black on the photos.) The wooden block is not going to stay this ugly brown, either, and the running gear, the bottom of the hull will get some dirt and grime -hence the strong wash.
I would like to know how the scratches, etc turned out, and what I could improve before I proceed. I really have problems painting paintchips one by one with a brush -for me it's simply impossible to paint irregular, random patches.
Thanks
The primary reason I don't want to see any pnzIV based vehicle for a while. I didn't take a photo of all the wheels, but you can imagine. The next vehicle here will be a white-washed, abandoned Mobelwagen (as can be seen on the photo), covered with snow:
