Hi all;
Well, I finally have a bit of spare time to start my first vBench blog. Like the subject says, I'm doing an M-10. I am a neophyte afv researcher, and my library is limited, but I do have a bunch of the Concord books, including US Tank Destroyers in Combat 1941-1945 by Zaloga. I am particularly inspired by a photo on p. 41 of that book, of a trio of 634th TD Battalion M-10's advancing on Aachen (The second and third vehicles in line appear to be intermediate-production variants, contrary to what the caption says.). The kit supplies decals for a 634th vehicle, but are sparse in terms of details, so I purchased the exquisite Archer set for placards, etc... That, so far, is the only aftermarket I will use, except for some stowage perhaps; this is a box build pretty much.
I will be adding to this blog casually, as time permits, but I have a good bit of work to share so far, so here we go:

The upper and lower hulls.

Detail of the transmission housing and drive sprockets; the first tweak is that the alignment lugs for the sprocket halves are a half a tooth off; the lug must be shaved off and aligned manually (I used a track link to help with alignment). I wonder how many folks are still wondering why their tracks don't seat properly in the sprockets?
