Well, what's the excuse...?? I had it lying around; wanted to try an AFV kit; I dig half tracks; it fell from the stack of some 24 waiting kits....
None... but it is a nice kit. A little perks too: Eduard PE, AFV working tracks and a cool Hobby Fan resin engine + stuff kit, which I picked up with a huge discount some years ago. It comes with a nice leFH 18 but since the resin add-on has an 7.5 cm ammunition compartment AND I have a nice finished PaK 40, I'll leave the howitzer to linger for now.
And where are we? Well, very much in the initial stages: got most of the chassis put together and started ever so slightly on the superstructure. Since I had the ol' Badger out today to do stuff, I took along the cool Maybach HL 42 TUKRM (or is it a Maybach HL 38 TUKR...? Not that much of a detail freak...
), the air filter, the radiator and the engine compartment.
What was the colour of an 1943 Sd. Kfz. 11 engine compartment, I wonder...?? Happy to hear thoughts.
